Love Over Fear Oakland in 2024: Connection, Care & Community
Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity’s Love Over Fear Oakland project was launched in response to the challenges faced by communities of color in Oakland.
With the guidance of their dedicated Cultural Strategists—Amina Lei ,B Dukes, and Francisco Herrera, the project celebrates the spirit and love of Oakland through various mediums like podcasts, photo series, and concerts.
Akonadi Foundation is proud to provide funding for this project.
Día de los Muertos Festival
Sponsored by The Unity Council, the Oakland Día de los Muertos Festival is a free, outdoor festival that brings over 100,000 people to the vibrant, culturally-rich Fruitvale neighborhood to enjoy world-class live music, family-friendly games, rides and activities, traditional Latin American artisans, and the stunning altar artistic installations created by community members paying homage to los Muertos.
